DSS Drives “One Click to Science Knowledge” to Become the National Infrastructure for Science, Technology, and Innovation Knowledge
On June 24, 2026, the Department of Science Service (DSS), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), led by Dr. Poowadee Toojinda, Director of the Science Service Digital Technology Institute and Chair of the Science and Technology Information Coordinating Center (STICC) Working Group, chaired the 1/2026 meeting of the STICC Working Group. The meeting was held at the Akkhramethi Meeting Room, Dr. Tua Lapanukrom Science Library, DSS, with an online broadcast connecting to network agencies nationwide. This meeting served as a crucial platform for shaping the future direction of the country’s science, technology, and innovation (STI) information network. The attendees reviewed the performance of the STICC Working Group and the STICC Website Development Working Group. They also discussed strategies to upgrade the STICC website and develop the ST&I Single Search system under the concept of “One Click to Science Knowledge.” This initiative aims to serve as a centralized hub that connects STI knowledge from network agencies across the country, making it easily accessible from a single access point. On this occasion, Ms. Udomlak Wiangngam, Director of the Dr. Tua Lapanukrom Science Library and Secretary of the STICC Working Group, reported on the progress of the STICC network’s operations, website development, and data integration among network agencies. She also provided updates on the development of the ST&I Single Search system and guidelines for expanding collaborative networks across the government, educational, and private sectors. The meeting acknowledged the progress made in data integration from network agencies, the development of information infrastructure, and the expansion of collaboration with educational, public, and private sectors. Additionally, they noted the capacity building of personnel in STI communication through the “STI Creator Academy” concept, which aims to build a network of new-generation science communicators to effectively disseminate knowledge to society. Furthermore, the meeting established strategic guidelines to drive the STICC network during the 2026–2027 fiscal years under the “People – Platform – Network” framework. This framework focuses on developing personnel capacity, elevating the science and technology knowledge platform, and expanding both domestic and international collaborative networks to tangibly increase the accessibility and utilization of STI data. The ongoing operations of STICC mark another significant milestone in integrating the collaborative efforts of over 40 network agencies. Together, they are developing the country’s knowledge infrastructure to become the national hub for science, technology, and innovation data linkage.
